The Sonic Man

Hello! Welcome to my blog! I've decided to put together a collection of all the crazy and stupid things I hear throughout the day. Here is my first blog... Enjoy!

After a particularly dry biology lecture this afternoon, I set out in search of a cool, refreshing drink. The local Sonic caught my eye with their half price Happy Hour drinks. I parked my car, ordered my drink, and pulled out my History book to brush up on William Penn and the Quakers before class started. The Sonic man comes out, and our conversation goes as follows.

Sonic Man: William Penn? Who is that?

Me: He founded Pennsylvania.

Sonic Man: He did what?

Me: He founded Pennsylvania.

Him: How can you find something that's already there?

Me: What?

Him: Wasn't Pennsylvania one of the original 13 states? If it was already there, how did he find it?

Me: No no, he FOUNDED it... he started it...

Him: yeah, I know, but he can’t FIND something if it was already there!

Me: He was the original guy... you know, William PENN... PENNsylvania... (I’m pointing to the two words on the page at this point)

Him: Well I still don’t get it. You can’t find something if it’s already a state.

Him: What do you want to do when you grow up anyway?

Me: Teach History.

Him: Well good luck.

Him (walking away): Find Pennsylvania... sheesh...
